Magali Cazo

Born in Lyon in 1979, Magali Cazo now divides her time between Ardèche and Paris. After studying at the École Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, she trained in a wide range of techniques, including oil painting, fresco, printmaking, lithography, and morphology, through various Parisian studios. These formative experiences gradually shaped her own visual language.

In recent years, her practice has focused primarily on ink, with landscape drawing taking on a central role. She has developed a deep affinity for paper, embracing the way the material responds and reveals itself through the medium. When she paints, she seeks a space in which she can be both the observer and the author of the images as they emerge.

Magali Cazo’s images possess the quiet strength and translucence of memories and dreams. They seem to arise almost magically from a brushstroke dipped in light ink, slowly spreading across the paper to bring forth forgotten landscapes or figures of an enigmatic softness. Like the subtle persistence of dreamlike visions, they settle into our gaze, gently and profoundly infusing our imagination with their silent beauty.
